Story: The Town By The Empty Lake
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] OldMagpie
Fandom: The Old Guard
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None apply
Pairing(s): Andy/Quynh and Joe/Nicky
Status: Complete
Length: 89,400 words

Author Summary: When Associate Professor James Copley receives a strange letter out of the blue from a man he does not know, he sends Nile Freeman to Europe to answer it. Armed with tenacity, curiosity and a brilliant mind, Nile sets off to find the mysterious Booker in the remote mountain town of Elvagyodask. She will soon discover that he is not all that awaits her there.

This is a a spooky thriller of a story. There will be death and violence and there are dark and unpleasant themes throughout as befits the setting and story, but the horror remains mainly in the atmosphere and the eternal, burning question - Is it In My Head or is it Something Else?

Other: Just, wow. Long, complex, spooky, mysterious -- a strange and dangerous psychic/occult shadow hangs over the town. It will take all of them -- regardless of whether or not they feel capable, and whether or not they even know what they're doing -- to overcome it, save themselves, and escape.

Story: Garden Grow series
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] thevorpalsword
Fandom: The Old Guard
Rating: Gen to Teen
Warnings: None apply
Pairing(s): Joe/Nicky
Status: 4 stories complete, series ongoing
Length: 60,000 words

Author Summary: This is just a spot for me to post all the little TOG fics, ficlets, drabbles and random ideas that I tinker with. These stories are all unconnected with one another (in theory); and can be enjoyed independently of each other.

Other: Technically "unconnected", the series meanders from far past to not-too-distant future. But each has a lovely, sweet, contented vibe between Joe and Nicky, or Yusuf and Nicolò; it's just a very peaceful series to read. I consider that vibe enough of a connection.

Story: Songs Written in Blood: A Nightingale's Flight
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] WinterEquinox
Fandom: The Old Guard
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence
Pairing(s): Nile/Booker and Joe/Nicky (background)
Status: Complete
Length: 18,700 words

Author Summary: There are bodies appearing all over the South Side of Chicago, and for once it doesn’t appear to be the work of Capone and his boys. Detective Sébastien “Booker” Le Livre seems to be the only one in the precinct that thinks this is a problem. He drowns his frustration at the nearest speakeasy to his shitty apartment, and listens to the incredible talent of Nile “Nightingale” Freeman and Joe al-Kaysani, the best jazz duo in the city. When the Nightingale is threatened, the crew of The Old Guard close ranks to keep her wings from being clipped and silencing her forever. Will the drunken detective be able to push back against the corruption in his precinct, or will he have to find this monster on his own?

Other: Absolutely wonderful period piece with TOG cast of characters set during the roaring 20's Prohibition. Andy owns the speakeasy, Nile is their "Nightingale" singer, and Booker is a detective trying to solve a series of murders -- and protect the woman he doesn't think he deserves. Well-written and flowing with spot-on voices; highly recommended.

Story: New Tricks
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] pendrecarc
Fandom: The Old Guard
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None apply
Pairing(s): Andy/Nile and Joe/Nicky (background)
Status: Complete
Length: 5,500 words

Author Summary: “I need some time,” Andy says, so they give it to her. Now Nile has to decide how to spend it.

Other: When Nile's efforts to devise coping mechanisms for herself aren't working as well as she'd like, she runs in to Andy. A friendship develops, and then more.

Story: Here Through the Dark and Beautiful
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] cap_and_cyborg
Fandom: The Old Guard
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None apply
Pairing(s): Nile/Booker and Joe/Nickt (background)
Status: Complete
Length: 9,000 words

Author Summary: Five years into Nile's immortality, she sees her brother and all the emotions she has been dealing with threaten to overwhelm her. Whether she likes it or not, her immortal family will be there for her through this. Through dancing and declarations, things start to get better

Other: It's just beautiful. Nile goes through some rocky emotions -- I totally didn't sniffle while reading (I lie) -- but Booker is there to help and support her. And all the while, the whole family surrounds her with love and caring.

Story: Ghost with a Beating Heart
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] Shaddyr
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Choose not to use. (attempted suicide)
Pairing(s): John/Rodney
Status: Complete
Length: 5,300 words

Author Summary: Forever is a long time.

Other: John needs to stop letting Rodney egg him on. The results left me teary-eyed, but in a good way; the hurt is fixed. But really... do we truly want to live forever?

Story: Bourbon & Aspirin
By: [archiveofourown.org profile] geminiangel
Fandom: NCIS
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Choose not to use (I remember only canon-typical violence.)
Pairing(s): Tony/Gibbs
Status: Complete
Length: 118,100 words

Author Summary: Gift request: Green card wedding: Gibbs is forced to marry Tony (who was born in Italy and due to a clerical mistake never became a US citizen) in order for Tony to retain his position at NCIS. This is on SecNav's orders.

Other: This very long story is a rose-colored-glasses view of what happens after Gibbs and Tony marry for convenience. This story is packed with crimes solved, a developing relationship between Gibbs and Tony, an unexpected inheritance, Jackson joining the family, Tony getting a puppy, a honeymoon in Italy combined with discovering Tony's true background, and more I'm forgetting. We see a generous, openhearted Tony learning to deal with his new circumstances while falling in love with Gibbs in a way that occasionally verges on sappiness, but never quite crosses the line -- though I don't think I'd mind if it did. Very satisfying all around.
