Technically I've been re-reading Good Omens fanfic for the last four days BUT I want to rec this It Chapter 2 fanfic, which is an AU inspired by Buzzfeed Unsolved and is genuinely scary without being over the top. Also romantic!

“This is your faithful host speaking, your courageous convoy to all that is chilling and creepy, Richie Trashmouth Tozier.” Richie says, tone deadly serious. “Tonight, we venture beyond the veil, mystery lovers, to a place so disturbing and terrifying my co-host Eddie has refused to venture inside.”

“This is mis-representation.” Eddie protests from behind the camera. “I’m not scared of ghosts, but I draw the line at bacterial infection.”

Other: I particularly enjoy seeing Blair through Teal’c’s eyes, as viewed through his Jaffa culture. His quiet support for Blair first exacerbates the conflict between Jim and Blair, but then helps them recognize and accept the next step of their sentinel/guide connection. This is a rattling good story, which got my art muse shouting, so I made title art.

It’s an interesting, complex story, with a little lovers-discovering-each-other for flavoring.

Other: This is an excellent story (if you like the genre of “the rest of the MCRT team are assholes to Tony”.) Competent!Tony becomes enmeshed in a far-reaching cold case and pulls in a team of people -- including Stargate personnel -- to unravel the threads. BUT! The author’s use of punctuation is inconsistent, with a considerable lack of periods. This bothers some people more than others. If you can ignore the punctuation and read for content, I think you’ll enjoy the story. But if erratic punctuation drives you bonkers, you probably should steer clear. But my art muse didn’t care about punctuation, and insisted that I make title art.
